Annotation by Joshua Lederberg:
KW: recombination; commonplace book;**;

The note dated July 5 1945 is one of the earliest allusions
to the concept of the E. coli crossing experiment.

There are many other divers remarks about mutation and heterokaryosis
in Neurospora. Some of these are inspired by the Beadle
Coonradt paper in Genetics, and by Beadle's Harvey lecture on
2/15/45.
