Listing of Joshua Lederberg's Science and Man (SAM) Series
Description:
This list represents a series of weekly newspaper columns in the Washington Post that were written by Lederberg in order to increase public awareness and understanding of science. Started in 1966, he commented on everything from manipulating genes to manipulating weather and from biological and nuclear warfare to fluoridation in drinking water. His columns were syndicated in other newspapers as well. In 1972, the columns stopped appearing regularly in the Washington Post and his series continued in other newspapers, journals, and magazines.
