Dear Dr.  Lederberg:

  In connection with the Symposium on Drug Abuse to be held
at Stanford University on October 18-19, it occurred to me
that some of the partici ants might be interested in seeing
a demonstration of  FRAT tiii , the opiate detection system that is
presently being used in Vietnam.  This demonstration is
planned for about 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 19, or as soon
as it is possible to convene at Syva following the final talk.
Syva is located less than ten minutes by car from Stanford in
the Stanford IndustrFal Park

  I would appreciate it if you would indicate on the enclosed
card if you plan to attend and whether transportation will be
required.
