Dr. Robert Alway, the Acting Dean of the Stanford Medical School called me yesterday to tell me he was writing to invite you and Esther to come to Palo Alto to seriously discuss your coming to Stanford. The developments since my visit to Madison have been very encouraging and I hope there will be no slip-ups. I would like to be your "friend in court" and help with any details that you feel easier discussing with me. It's more fun working with enzymes than being one but this is an exception.
