The Soluble Specific Substance of Pneumococcus: V. On the Chemical Nature of the Aldobionic Acid from the Specific Polysaccharide of Type III Pneumococcus
Description:
During the mid 1920s, Heidelberger and Walther Goebel continued to work on understanding the chemistry of polysaccharide antigens in type III pneumococcus. Goebel and Heidelberger found that the polysaccharide contained a novel aldobionic acid formation, and sought to further explore this structure in this article.
