Description:
In this letter Waksman welcomed Heidelberger to his new position as visiting investigator and honorary professor at the Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers, founded by Waksman and endowed with proceeds from his discovery of streptomycin. Heidelberger spent nine years at the institute, the first phase of a long and active retirement.
