Dear Heidelberger ,

I was very glad to get your letter and to hear that youhad

a satisfactory summer. - Glad that you decided to publish summriea of

your work both in the Chemical and Physiological Reviews, While in

France I met Professor Besredka and he spoke in the highest terms of

your work, so you see it has great recognition not only in this country

but also abroad, .

We too had a very satisfactory summer.

Crossing to Wance

was quite satisfactory even thou& the food on the Royal Mail Line,  as

usual, was nothing to rave about, On the other hand, on the return

trip, the food was excellent but the sea did not behave quite so well,

80 the average was good, Personally, I have rested and gained weigbt

on the return trip more than I have ever done in any eigbt days.

Evian is one of the nicest places we have ever visited and

we can recommend it hi&ly to anybody who wants a peaceful time and most

interesting and picturesque surroundings,

I wish to congratulate you on your tenth anniversarg,

I wish

I had known about it before  so that our greetings might have been more

timely,
