Transcript:
TIMOTHY JOHNSON: Pressure question for the director of the National Institutes of Health: if your budget were slashed to one tenth of its present size, what would you spend that money on? What's most important?
DONALD S. FREDRICKSON: I think if that disaster were to happen, I would make sure that we picked out the 50, or maybe the 100, best minds in the country and I'd support them to follow their own idea.
TJ: You cannot bypass the human brain when it comes to research?
DSF: You can't legislate discovery.
