Crick thanks Walker for his letter and expresses both wishfulness that his work "could be used to make people feel better and better" but also doubt that "there is a simple effect of environment on character" as Walker suggests. Crick anticipates insight in this area will come from study of the higher nervous system more than it will come from biochemical genetics.
