Description:
Dr. Sawyer visited Colombia in 1925 to inspect and assess hookworm control projects started by the Rockefeller Foundation. Besides these, he also chronicled the often difficult journeys in ships and on rafts, on trains, and on horseback, a riot in Bogota, and the wide variety of food and accommodations he encountered.
