Dear Sir:

    I enclose a Letter to the Editor, with the request that you publish
it in the Journal of the American Medical Association as soon as possible.
It is a comment on the book review entitled Pauling and Vitamin C, by
Franklin C. Bing, published in the JAMA for 1 March 1971.

    I am not objecting to the expression of opinion by the reviewer.  I
feel, however, that it is necessary that the erroneous statements made in
the review be corrected.

    I may mention that I am shocked that you should publish a review
containing such false and misleading statements.

    I ask that you publish my enclosed Letter to the Editor without any
changes or deletions.
