I am pleased that you should write to me about my submitting a paper for the special issue of Nature on April 1974 to mark
the 21st anniversary of the Watson and Crick paper on DNA.
I am now writing a paper, to which I have assigned the title "The Molecular Basis of Biological Specificity". I propose
