- In this photo, Luria posed with Lwoff outside the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social in Mexico City. Luria was one of two representatives to the meeting of a committee that formulated a resolution on biological weapons. The committee, which was chaired by eminent microbiologist Andre Lwoff, produced a declaration outlawing biological warfare that was later unanimously adopted by the United Nations.
