Koop," on U.S. Surgeon General C.
Everett Koop's stand in favor of pub-
lic education to prevent the spread
of AIDS. grossly misrepresented a
serious oar~onal epldemrc.

Dr. Koop has recognued the or-
gent need m inform all potentlai
AIDS vlcums of ways m pr&ent be-
im infected with the wrus that ultt-'
&rely brings on the disease.

Ignorance is akm CO death in this
epidemic; and as our surgeon gen-
eral, Dr. Koop has taken a highly
visible and extemely responstble po.
sition by urging early exposure to
disease prevention information.

posmon. his efforts in the area of
respect for human life have been

targeted for euthanasia by many
who feel older persons should die.
