Dr. Wilson and key staff from the medical and engineering schools made a national survey of computer applications in medical institutions. They visited Chicago, Cleveland, Rochester, Minnesota and many other places to determine how and where computers could assist physicians in providing better care for heart disease, cancer, and stroke patients.The Missouri RMP placed a major emphasis on the use of computers as diagnostic aids and as improved methods for accessing current medical literature.
