It is difficult to say whether the Missouri RMP was responsible for many significant activities that are funded and operational today. The following activities appear to be closely related: 1) Missouri Kidney Program; 2) services to the coronary patient including CPR training, ambulance services with trained staff and modern equipment; 3) emergency services for other than the cardiovascular patient; 4) case registers for kidney, diabetes, and cancer patients; 5) computerized diagnostic services such as ECG, radiology, and clinical laboratory; and, 6) computer support for hospital records in addition to fiscal records. In 1995, the VA Hospital ECG cart contains a computer and printer that provides a description of the ECG and a computer diagnosis along with the curvolinear ECG display, a very common practice in most hospitals today.
