In this addendum to his letter of April 6, Klug supplied further details on the three-dimensional configuration of atoms within aggregate crystals of DNA, particularly the conditions, including the presence of salt, under which one can observe nucleosomes, compounds of DNA and protein that appear like beads on a string, under the electron microscope.
