Title:
Letter from Aaron Klug to Francis Crick pdf (313,539 Bytes) ocr (9,929 Bytes)
Description:
NOTE: The last line on page one is cut off in the original copy scanned for the National Library of Medicine.
Klug here further detailed X-ray and electron microscope evidence on the three-dimensional configuration of atoms within crystals of DNA, particularly the dense packing of such atoms in nucleosomes, bead-like compounds of DNA and structural proteins called histones. Klug's structural studies of nucleic acid and protein complexes showed that most chromosomal DNA did not appear in the classic helical form described by Crick and Watson, and won him the 1982 Nobel Prize in chemistry.
Item is a photocopy.
