Description:
Lady Bird Johnson was a personal friend of Lasker, with whom she shared an interest in flowers, gardening, and urban beautification. Their friendship gave Lasker access to President Lyndon Johnson, who credited medical science with saving his life after his heart attack in 1958, and who was responsive to the memoranda and drafts of speeches Lasker regularly submitted to him.
