Dear Mary:

I am si, pleased you can join us at the Ranch the weekend af

April 19,  LO and 21 st.

This 15 the prettiest time L)i year in the Texas Ti:ll Cowitr\.

And if Motrier Nature doesn't let us down the fields 6111 be divv
with the brilliance8t wildflowers. The weather should be clear
arid barii: -I- the temperatures in the high 70s.

Because you are probably wondering what to pack, I thought

it would be helpful if I outlined some of the things we will be dding.
However, before I go any further, I want to make it absolutely clenr
that if you want to do nothing but sit by the pool or walk along the
river, that is what I want you to do!

   On Friday night I thought we would drive over the Ranch, watch
the deer, see the o.-r=:-:$ and gather back around the pool for dinner.
Dress: n,ost irf=rma? -*- a comfortable dress with a jacket or sj\\eatcr, or
slacks, sport shirt2 xid the like.

   Saturday rr:orning after breakfast I will take rhe early risers to
see the restored farmhouse where Lyndon was born (\xhich is just down
thc road Iron1 the ranch), the Lyndon Johnson park,  and into Joiinsm
City to see the house where Lyndon lived as a boy.  This modest little
Victorian hJuse is open to the pxblic and I am pleased to say has sur
prised all dl us with Its great number of visitors.

About 11 am - perhaps the late risers will join us - and wc will

take a helicopter into Austin where I want very milch to show yc'u the
Library site.
Univt:rsity of Texas, Harry Ransom, and iriake brief stop to see
tiic hantisonie new garden which Nellie Connally has just finished at
the Governor's Mansion. Dress: street clothes, business suit.

Then we will have lunch with the Chancellor of the

Mid-afternoon we will return to the xar.Ch, in time for s\%ii-n

or a nap.
Dress: cac~tarl dress, business suit.

At 7 I have invited a few close fr;t.nds to join us tor dicner.

Or, S-incia); you can go to church, sleep late, swim or ~katever

you like.
