I acknowledge with apologies for the delay your letter of January 15, 1943
which has just come to my attention upon my return to Algiere.

I thotoughly agree with the recommendationa made, and I shall be delighted
to support to the beet of my abailiy the issuance of instructions by our
Government which would permit two or three members of the Rockt;feller
Foundation staff to proceed to Algiers after your return to the United
States.

I take this occasion to congratule you both on the excellent work you
have done during your brief stay in this area, face as you were with
every poesible material difficulty+
