On the Function of Hexuronic Acid in the Respiration of the Cabbage Leaf
Description:
In the fall of 1929, Szent-Gyorgyi was invited to continue his work on "hexuronic acid" at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. There he was able to isolate a larger quantity of the substance (thanks to ready access to fresh adrenal glands from the nearby slaughterhouses) and run further experiments with it.
