On the Relation between Tension and ATP in Cross-striated Muscle
Description:
This was co-authored by Szent-Gyorgyi's second wife, Marta, who used her maiden name, Borbiro, for the publication. This study measured the concentration of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in rabbit muscle tissue at intervals after the animal's death and found that as the ATP concentration decreased over time, so did the contractility.
