- Transcript:
- None of us knew. There was Szent-Gyorgyi and his group, presumably working all through the war in Szeged, Hungary, but what they were doing, what it was all about, no one had any idea. And when the war ended, suddenly it turned out that they had worked out, and put on an entirely new basis, the whole chemistry, physiology of muscle, of muscular contraction. And it essentially just wiped off everything known 'til then and started off on another level, which has been the heart of the whole thing since.
