Description:
In this article, Kyle and Freis report on their study which involved the analysis of externally recorded arterial pulse waves in order to determine vascular compliance. Recording both the carotid and brachial arterial pulse waves, they found that changes with aging and hypertension were consistent with a loss of arterial distensibility.
