Effect of Therapy on Left Ventricular Function in Hypertension
Description:
In this article, Gottdiener, Notargiacomo, and Freis studied the effect of antihypertensive therapy on left ventricular function in patients with no evident cardiac problems. This study compared ventricular function after reduction of arterial pressure by antihypertensive agents with the untreated state. They found that patients undergoing treatment demonstrated improved left ventricular function.
