"Desirous of seeing Morocco make an effective contribution to the promotion and development of study and research in every
field: education, literature, culture, art, as well as in science, technology, economics, diplomacy and politics;
Conscious of the value of exchanges of view between the cultural and scientific leaders of different nations;
Conscious of the creative and enriching effort made for a better understanding and mutual appreciation between the Moroccan
people and those with whom we are linked by ties of friendship and cooperation;
Conscious that many peoples share our faith in the values we hold in common, and which have been granted to us by universal
civilization, the transcendance of the human mind, and a fervent desire for the consolidation of peace and the achievement
of humanity's noblest ideals;
We have decided to fond the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco which We hereby place under Our high Patronage, by virtue of
the Dahir dated 24th Shawwal 1397 (8th October 1977). This law states the objectives of the Academy, defines its structure
and prescribes the regulations for admission."
