Dear Lederberg,
I enclose a reprint of my C.S.H. papers, which you may like to have. Would you be so good as to send me one of your own contribution, for my file of cytological papers--in virtue of Miss Lively's photomicrographs.
You may be amused to know

that the passage of a year, and the scrutiny of everything Dehamater has written on the subject, has served merely to convince me that the interpretation is exactly what I sketched for you at the time. Furthermore, the interesting fact emerges that nearly all his many communications are illustrated with the same, two "metaphases", in a coccus and in B. megatherium; at different magnifications and angles, but always the same plates! And no acknowledgement.
I think this goes to suggest that my crack about "rigorous selection of material" was even better justified than I knew at the time.
