that the passage of a year, and the scrutiny of everything Dehamater has written on the subject, has served merely to convince
me that the interpretation is exactly what I sketched for you at the time. Furthermore, the interesting fact emerges that
nearly all his many communications are illustrated with the same, two "metaphases", in a coccus and in B. megatherium;
at different magnifications and angles, but always the same plates! And no acknowledgement.
I think this goes to suggest that my crack about "rigorous selection of material" was even better justified than I
knew at the time.
