Dear Jim
Perspective -
Later draft.
Mike Young has helped me get up to date on Drosophila. I'd still appreciate your looking at that section!
Subject to your suggestions, or a last minute phone call from me, this can be my definitive ms.
I'd better come to closure: new ideas (or old ones!) keep bubbling up, and the ms. is probably about as long as you'd want.
The opportunity is much appreciated. It is hard for me to imagine a better vehicle ever coming up.
Can I think of offering you another, less personal one in a year or too[SIC], on the genesis of genetic engineering?
Your,
Josh
