Annotation by Joshua Lederberg:
KW: recombination in E. coli; Cold Spring Harbor;

This is a transcript of the tail of BBADZR, embracing
Delbruck's report to Haldane of the Cold Spring Harbor Symposium,
particularly recounting my claims of sex in bacteria.

This letter was left in an unpublished examination of statistics
of mutant distributions that Haldane left with me, after My first
meeting with him and Spurway, Dec. 1946 (at Boston AAAS)
Cf:  P-274
See HALDANE SOLUTION OF THE LURIA-DELBRUCK DISTRIBUTION
  SARKAR S   GENETICS 27: (2) 257-261 FEB 1991

It is a far more positive contemporary comment than I ever got in
correspondence direct from Delbruck.
