Dear Dr. Lederberg,
Many thanks for the sample of ONP6.
Our interest is of a different nature although it may eventually be relabeled as the lytic activation you have described. We have in some cases obtained enzyme activity of adaptive enzymes in the absence of substrate which suggests that the substrate is not a necessary condition for enzyme synthesis.
Sincerely,
J Dubnoff
