Transcript:
My wife has just shown me the news of your election to the National Academy if "Science." Allow me to congratulate them on their decision. It would be impertinent to congratulate you on this recognition. But permit me to hope that your wife will join you as an academician. I am sorry we did not see you when you were here. My wife has just got the first case of self-fertilizing hermaphroditism vertebralis and this might have amused you. We are just emigrating to India. If you would ever like to visit it, write to me at the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, and I will try to swing it for you.
Yours Sincerely
J.B.S. Huldane
