Dear Dr. Lederberg,
Thank you very much for your informative letter of June 1st. It helped clarify several points of experimental fact which were not previously clear to me.
Also, your advice on the writing of the paper is well taken. The use of the term, transduction (in all its forms), has and will continue to be performed with as much discretion as I can engender. Your point of view on its usage is clearly stated early in the article.
I am looking forward to a discussion with you at Baltimore.
