Dear Sir:
I am a graduate student in the Bacteriology Department of the University of Kentucky and I hold a graduate assistant here. At Madison where I obtained my B.A. I took a course in general genetics under Dr. T. Sonneborn and [ . . . ] under Dr. Riley. I am very much interested in gene action and for this reason an assistantship during the summer in your department would be for me of great help.
Forgive me for asking your answer as soon as possible but my department must know about my destination this summer. Thank you very much!
Truly Yours,
Hogo Hoenigsberg
