Dear Dr. Lederberg,
I am sending you and Esther a copy of my thesis, to be added to your growing microbial genetics library, along with the theses of such distinguished former students as Zinder, Morse, et al!
My motive in doing this is quite genuine so please do not think it ulterior in view of the fact that I am following up with a request. I have not made a practice of asking you and Esther for reprints heretofore, because the various journals were always readily available to me at Wisconsin. Our library here, however, is inadequately supplied with journals, and so I would greatly appreciate receiving any reprints of yours and Esther's still available and being placed on the future mailing list. I do happen to have two reprints on hand--the sex compatability paper with Cavalli and Esther's allelic relationships and reverse mutation paper.
Sincerely yours,
Branch
