I have read your articles about genetics recombination of Escherchia coli, with great interest.
But I have not read "Gene recombination and linked segregations in Escherichia coli" published in Genetics 32: 302-325
1947, as this volume of Genetics has not arrived because of the postwar confusion.
I would greatly appreciate receiving a reprint or copy of this article and I am afraid it is to much to ask of you, but would
you please send to me the following strains.

I have two mutants of Salmonella typhi-[ . . . ] one if cystinless another is [Beta]-alaninless.
I should like to study the gene recombination, using your strains and mines.
Some day, I shall be glad to send my data to you.
I shall be happy, if you grant my request.
Very truly yours,
Dr. Tetsu Nakayama
[P.S.] I desire to also reprints or copies of articles "Novel genotypes in mixed cultures of biochemical mutants of Bacteria"
published in Cold Sp. Harb. Symp. [ . . . ] Biol." 11. 113-114. 1946, and "Gene recombination in Escherchia coli"
published in Nature 158, 558. 1946.
