Dear Josh;
Thanks so much for your very thoughtful letter. Obviously the thought of working with you and Norman at Stanford is a most attractive one to me. I have come to no firm conclusion yet because I'd like to give the whole business a lot of careful thought. Some of it is done by the hypothalamus or in some other noncortical area and I have yet to receive the message from there. I will be seeing Norman again next Monday in Chicago and will talk further with him. There is no question of the many attractions of Palo Alto. The main questions have to do with some family considerations, and the possible pleasure there might be in starting genetics in some place where it has never existed. I will talk further with Norman and will keep you informed. In the meantime thanks again for
