Dear Norm --
Thank you for the invitation. We are looking forward to the occasion. May I provisionally accept for March 8? I should know by next year whether there is any unforeseen conflict, and if you don't hear otherwise it should stick. I hope Beets will be around too at that time; If not, March 11 would probably do as well (for me).
Can we leave the title open? I would probably prefer to talk about bacterial genetics, but if anything hot should develop say at Nice (at the Cospar symposium in January) do you think exobiology would be appropriate? I may be optimistic in thinking anything both new and concrete is likely to happen in either field before then.
As ever
Joshua
