Transcript:
Dear Josh,
I have been asked to scramble a symposium together on Biochem Sect of ACS, Sept 7-10, Chicago. Title: "Chemical Genetics." I am not too keen to arrange and espec not on this time [sic]. Yet I manage to get Cyr Levia - - that and Bill Dreyer.* I am writing Benzer. What about you? Please, let me know what topics you might like to present within that broad framework - - if you should be back from Stockholm. I imagine that the speaking time would be 30 min. More details whenever I hear from you. Also more detail about "99" - - we are trying to analyze cell wall of "96" grown on glucose.
As ever yours,
Herman
* And a very good chance of getting Roger Herriott.
P.S. I have also got Harvey Frano[?] as speaker and tentative acceptance by Roger Herriott. Perhaps we will be too successfull! [sic] - - in that event we must have alternating 20 and 10 min talks. Why not? I guess that I must include Frankel-Conrad and Zamenhof too. I am of course first contacting Rollin Hatchkin and Mathew Meselson.
