Thank you for your kind letter. I have been thinking the situation over and have decided to stick it out here for a year.
Ives and I have some interesting work started with lethals in melanogaster populations and I hope that it will yield a few
papers. Meanwhile I have one in press and another ready to submit. So, research-wise a few things have developed. However,
I am still interested about getting into some straight research and unless the situation here changes drastically I shall
want to make a break.
Are you planning to be at the Ithaca meetings? We shall be there and would like to see you very much. Perhaps we can talk
about this in a bit more detail at that time.
Once again thank you very much for hearing me out. It makes me feel quite good to have somebody to talk to about these things.
I have had to hash most of them out by myself up until now.
