An encouraging tide
In part in response to the memo, which will be a chapter in Jay Keyworth's report, there is a new wave of understand[word cut off on original] in govt. about systemic proble[word cut off on original] of federal support.
I was at NIH yesterday i[word cut off on original] an extraordinary meeting wit[letters cut off in original] Jim Wyngaarden, all the NIH institute directors and most of t[letters cut off in original] NIH grants policy staff.
For the first time since Jim Shannon, I heard a real concern from that brass about the healt[letters cut off in original] of institutions like R.U. an[letters cut off in original] about the life cycle careers of scholars like ours.
"Investment vs procurement" is becoming a catchwor[letters cut off in original] in these circles, as it shoul[letters cut off in original] be
