Dear Dr. Doisy:
I'm glad indeed to prepare a statement about Ed Tatum. I enclose it herewith.
The Botany Section has already nominated Tatum and he is coming along well. I believe, though, he's a natural for an intersectional nomination so I'm glad the Physiology and Biochemistry Section is considering him too. Sinnott, I believe, prepared the statement for the botanists. He or Cleland or D.F. Jones, present chairman of Botany, can no doubt supply a copy of this plus a list of publications. Perhaps you may want to make a composite of Sinnott's and my statement.
Anyway, I hope we can get him in next year or the one thereafter.
Best regards,
G. W. Beadle
