Annotation by Joshua Lederberg:
Node: Abigail Albert was my classmate in kindergarten through grade school
in New York, ca. 1930 on. She was married to Roy Albert, an environmental
biologist/biochemist whom I met several times while he was at NYU,
with no inkling his wife was Abby. Somehow that came out, and I contacted
them and visited in Cincinnati on one of my trips to a P&G board meeting.
She gives vivid account of her recollections. The Israel trip was
in 1933. Op the stairs refers to the innumerable decks on the
Italian liner, S.S. Augusta we used for the voyage.
She also recounted to me that while I was something of a [nerd] the
whole class thought I was something special intellectually, proud of
me, and willing to make any allowances for my behavior. How warm!
