Hist minus cys4 reisolate (k-12) from Treffers [?] -- a fairly good stock if grown in the presence of cysteine supplement
(30 gamma/ml) -- all In rich media and slants
"Hfr" H minus T-3 -- transduced "B" tryp region (with requires) into H minus cysq and isolated an H plus with
requires -- replicated for an Hfr (1) and got one -- replaced tryp region by transduction from H minus cys4 -- picked a H
minus cys minus -- replaced cys with T-3 by transduction
undoubtably lysogenic for Plke --
This stock and other isolated from Hfr(1) gives 5.5 percent recomb. when crossed to strain B F minus's and to avalent
K-12's. We only get high frequency when we plate 1 hr old mixture on enriched minimal (.2 percent by volume, nutrient
broth soln supplement) and if we include a supplement permitten, recovery of the non-hist marker of the donor ([ . . . ] A.
with HfrH minus T-3)

Recomb. colonies tend to be se[ . . . ]ed. Really don't know what grew with this strain, would appreciate your opinion
if you can run a cross with it.
Hfr H minus/1tryp number delta -- mostly organic for Plkc from Hfr (1) by exposure to F1. Isolated typical tryp deletion type
-- responds to tryparue and is V1R. V1 is of course very closely linked to the tryp region. We have been able to transducer
the tryp deletion into a cys attach.
