Transcript:
Dear Dr. Lederberg,
At last they have decided that I have amoebic dysentery and there also are some Giardia creeping around inside. This was just established today; the treatment is 10 days; I may be able to leave before the conclusion of the treatment; but I wouldn't expect to be out before the end of this week. Right now I feel very miserable as I have a high fever and get my nourishment via interminable I.V. injections. But now that the doctors think they know what is the matter, I may be improved after a spell. Hope so. This is awful.
It is one way to lose weight, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I'm not able to concentrate much, but my roommate just now brought me her notes from Link's course, so I won't be clear behind when I finally escape.
Best regards to all.
Helen
