Dear Josh,
Enclosed are the MSS I promised. After editors comments were taken into account, the papers (which will appear in J.G.M. in Dec.) turned out a trifle different -- and a bit improved. But these MSS are pretty close to the final form. Sorry one is incomplete -- I have no other copy.
Our summer was splendid. I've lost weight and am as hard as nails. Same with Dave -- the girls are just hard.
I was distressed to learn upon my return that Moewus' [sic]

summer at WH was such a fiasco. I wish I had been with him. What I have heard thus far, except from him, has been multiple-hand. I'm trying to get original sources and wonder whether you would care to give me your impressions. Moewus told me you talked with him.
I still have confidence in the fellow and am continuing my plan to try and repeat some of his experiments.
