Dear Josh:
Thanks for the MS and the reprint.
Sorry you didn't come to C.S.H. Since Dave was there and has probably told you the details I won't add anything other than to say I found it quite an ordeal.
Would appreciate the details of your lysogenisis [sic]-protection experiment as I have been unable to repeat it. (what I believed to be it)
Would also appreciate cultures of SW 665 and SW 666. The meat infusion broth I have been using seems to have a high selectivity for rough

survivors and several cultures including the latter two have been lost. I am now switching to N.A. stabs for preservation.
Yours
Norton
P.S.
Points of information
1. Phage - FA doesn't undergo osmotic shock
2. Phage - FA relative of v[ . . . ]t to ultra-sonics and inactivated proportionally
3. 1 gl [?] and 2 mal markers on SW-950 are transduced [?] independently -- more with frequency comparable to H minus to H plus. Why???
4. Lwoff claims our virulent phage mutant (22H) is analogous to his AC mutant which induces lysogenicity 1/10,000. Have to start with purified culture to find or else too many roughs. I have not yet verified this as all I've been able to find is non-rough phage contaminated clones which can be purified by streaking.
