There is an abundant literature on the Bari incident but this covers the gist.
The oil/mustard brew is particularly horrendous. oil/nerve gas might be likewise. And the usual protective gear would not be too apropos
One also has to contemplate mines with chemical warheads.
Decon facilities are unlikely to be handy on the beach!
I would be very much interested to see the June 20 1944 "official report".
I look forward to seeing you for lunch on Feb 16.
