Attention: Colonel Warner F. Bowers, M.C.
Chief, Surgical Consultants Division
Dear Sir:
Please find enclosed a report of my temporary tour of duty as a Civilian Consultant to your Office. I was assigned to duty in the American Occupied Zone of Europe from June 28 through July 27, 1949.
I am grateful for the opportunity it presented me to be of service. As is so often the case, the teacher probably learned more than he taught. I do hope, however, that my visit was of some value to the patients whom I saw and the Medical Officers with whom I talked.
Respectfully yours,
Charles R. Drew, M.D.
