Dear Josh,
It was good to hear from you! Regrettably, I cannot cast any light at first hand on the Avery-Columbia situation. I had already gone to Storrs by that time. Two people who might know are Kim Atwood and Evelyn Wittier. I expect to see Kim next week-end and will ask him.
Shosh and her husband Jerry visited us recently. He is the dean of faculties at Pitt. Their son Jonathan graduated from Harvard last June and is now at Cambridge U doing graduate work in mathematics.
As you see from the letterhead, I am no longer "officially"--in the Biology department. We have reorganized into separate schools as a means of trying to handle 31,000 students and I am now deaning it as head of the

school of science.
My father wrote me of his conversation with you. He is pretty much immobilized with emphysema and does not go out much, but as you perceived, his spirits and mental faculties are unimpaired and he still gives a weekly Talmud "Shiur."
Belated congratulations on your marriage. If you ever come East I hope we can get together.
Sincerely
Mordy
(Gabriel)
